For a normal text box, once you have made your changes you will need to click on the thumbs up icon underneath the text box to save your changes.

People, News and Events
If you are trying to add a new Event, Person or News Story and you can't see it in the place you thought it would be, you may have multiples of that component over your site (e.g a news component on 2 pages or multiple wards on a councillor page). 

If this is the case, when you make the news story/event/person you should get a drop down menu underneath the name/title which says "Type". You may need to select a "Type" from here in order for the story/person to appear in the right place.
